“ I recently went to Truman Tavern and had a great time! The place looked really nice, and the food we ordered was fantastic. We got the Caesar salad with chicken, edamame, and some fries--everything was delicious. We also asked for the grapefruit-flavored beer, which was a great choice and added to the overall experience. The only thing I would change was the TV shows they were playing. At around 10 PM, they were literally streaming the Animal Channel, which felt a bit out of place for a bar atmosphere. We mentioned it to our waiter, and she wasn't even aware that the animal show was on. She explained that a basketball game had been playing earlier, and whatever show was on after that was what they ended up broadcasting. Aside from that, everything else was great, and I would definitely return. Just a suggestion to maybe pick something a little more fitting for a bar setting next time! ”

“ I arrived at Truman House Tavern on a Saturday for lunch as it opened at 12pm. Street parking available on San Fernando Rd as well free private parking (shared with other businesses) off of Truman St in the rear. You can entered through the front off of San Fernando Rd and the rear. Truman House Tavern is aesthetically pleasing. Trendy hipster location you can dress up or dress casual to meet up with friends or go by yourself . You can sit at the bar or tables . Seats with back rest are available only at the bar. The rest are just stools. We sat at the bar. Because the of the time it was not packed , but the place does seem to get full . Staff seem friendly and nice. Didn't get the name of our waitress working 3/8/25 , she was attentive and make sure we didn't need anything. Glass of water were filled without being asked. I ordered Carne Asada Fries and a Michelada . Carne Asada Fries had drizzle of chipotle mayo. The chipotle mayo is not overpowering. Carne asada was tender and well seasoned . The plate is considered a shareable. Michelada was flavorful and tasty but not overly spicy. One of the best ones I've had. Must be 21 to enter this establishment. Signs are posted in main entrance as well as rear. I will definitely be returning to try more dishes and drinks . ”

“ Perfect spot for a late date night. I've been there for happy hour and downside is no parking and long wait. Even though there is parking in the back, it's impossible to find a spot. I'd rather come later, like an hour or two before closing. Great drinks and delicious appetizers. I love their bourbon meatballs. My absolute favorite is their Brussels sprouts. Their artichoke dip and truffle fries are pretty good too. Their brownie a la mode is really good too. As far as drinks go, their Palomas and Sangria are great I love ordering their seasonal drinks as well. ”

“ Service, food, and drinks were all great! Breakfast burrito: fluffy eggs, good taste, one of the better breakfast burritos I've had. Carne asada fries: these are good, but the pickled onions are what make it great. Buffalo chicken strips: I'm pretty picky when it comes to buffalo wings/strips - and these were very good. They remind me of Islands strips. They were crispy, and the buffalo sauce was good. Not as vinegary as I typically like, but still very good. I'd order all 3 of these items again. Good beer selection, and we ordered a mojito as well. That was very good! Service was great! ”

The food options definitely have a fusion vibe to them. The ingredients are fresh. The cocktails are both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. “ About four years ago, during the before times, I had a chance to visit this place for happy hour. Can't remember too much, but I remembered the logo on my bottle of "El Más Guapo" was a strange and silly talking point. Drink was good though. Time-skip to more recently for another outing with my colleagues, and we decided to head here again. The tavern has gotten a lot livelier, and street parking along with afternoon traffic in the immediate area can be difficult. This time around I ordered a paloma, and it instantly drew in OOOHS and AHHHS. Housed in a ceramic earthen cup, with two wedges of citrus and tajin along the rim, the design of the drink certainly made an impression. Flavor-wise, it had a decent balance of tequila, grapefruit, and agave without being too sweet. We had around twenty folks at our table, so the place got packed. At least with a large group, it seems they won't open and close the tabs for individuals planning on leaving early. Other than that, great choice for a local hangout spot. ”
